What tool is good to have in your biking toolset, and only costs a few bucks? Thats right, the lockring tool! What do you use a lockring tool for you might ask? Well, in a fixed gear conversion, the lockring tool is good for getting the old hub off and tightening the now lockring.
Thats not all! The best part of having a lockring is to do maintenance on your bike. If you retain a road bike after your conversion, the best way to clean the cassette out is to take it off and clean it by submerging it in a cleaning solution. It is less important on a fixed gear bike, but still a good maintenance item if you like your bike to be in top order.
